outs, stairways, lighting, LA, instrumentation, make-up and blow-down systems, Chemical treatment system and dry pipe deluge type fire protection system. Soft/raw water will be used for direct make-up to the Circulating Water System. The water will be pumped to the cooling tower from the storage tanks. Make-up water quantity required for the circulating water system is maximum 120 cubic meters per day in off-season. The circulating water chemical feed system will supply water conditioning chemicals to the circulating water system to minimize corrosion and to control the formation of mineral scale and bio-fouling. Sulfuric acid and sodium hypochlohte will be fed into the circulating water system, as needed, and in proportion to make-up water for pH control and to* control the scaling tendency of the circulating water.

The cooling tower controls shall contain a temperature control system, which will be programmed into the facility distributed control system, having both automatic and manual modes, to control the operation of the tower.

2.10    WATER REQUIREMENT                                                                                         .

The sugar unit requires 9 lakh liter of water per day. Taking into consideration residential colony and irrigational need for factory, farm and trees, it is estimated that the total water requirement of fresh water will be 9 lakh liter.

2.10.1  Water Source

Factory proposes to draw water from Borewell. About 9000 m3 / d of freshwater is required in the cogen and sugar industry for boiler feed water, process application, domestic use and gardening. The society proposes to draw water from the bore well located from the site. It is proposed to have Rain Water Harvesting System having rain catchment of 40,000 sq. M for 20,00,000 lit of water.

2.10.2 Water Treatment                                        .

The water has to be treated in a suitable water treatment plant. The extent of water treatment required for different applications is given below :

Boiler feed  :          De-mineralized Water
Cooling Water  :          Soft Water
Domestic Use  :          Clarified and Filtered
Gardening   :          Raw Water
Process in Sugar Plant  :          Soft Water / Filtered Water
